Khatod High Tecnology, Best Quality Service: This Is Our Must

Khatod High Tecnology, Best Quality Service: This Is Our Must

Khatod is the unique company on the international scene that specifies and develops the entire product process 100% in-house. Since 1985,  Khatod has held  all of its operations in its headquarter (Milano, Italy) a full optical service - from project to object - encompassing optical and mechanical designs, mould fabrication, injection moulding, test and inspection, as well as the time to market, are under our full control.

Our quality starts from close collaboration with selected suppliers, world leaders in plastic materials, control instruments, and machines for polymers transformation process.

Most of the technologies used to produce our millions of parts per month, are created by our team of engineers who develop our new, technically unique products as well as creating the necessary tooling and equipment to manufacture them. The latest evolution in LED Technology has resulted in new devices such as the COB LEDs – Chip On Board LEDs - which allow a huge variety of new and innovative applications in Lighting.
The high luminosity of the COB LEDs is achieved through a unique packaging in the tightest space.

This high-level packaging density of the LED chips allows to perform high intensities while delivering a perfect homogeneous flux. However, as any LED source, also the COB LEDs need a proper optical solution to optimize their high power for a brilliant performance.
Khatod, a real front-runner in Lighting solutions, as usual, has immediately intercepted this new demand from the Lighting market, and is proud to unveil its latest creation: LYRA Optical Reflector Systems (ORS) for the new generation of High Brightness COB LEDs.

Reflectors are currently used in optical systems to maximize both illumination and high efficiency.
However, in order to deliver the best optical performance, they need the highest manufacturing technology.
Today, we are proud to announce that, since the beginning of 2012 Khatod has equipped its Production Department with the most advanced vacuum treatment plant based on the latest cutting-edge VACUUM COATING TECHNOLOGIES, specific for coating our Optical Reflector Systems for LED applications.
Always in the same spirit: 100% in-house, under our full control, from project to object, our aim is to deliver our customers the highest quality level.

The realization of our vacuum treatment plant has been carried out in collaboration with the R&D of one of the most important companies of the industry, operating worldwide. They have been market leader in the  high-vacuum treatment since 1950, and are owners of dozen international patents for PVD, Physical Vapour Deposition.

Our vacuum treatment plant is not a common equipment for general use, as most of the coating plants available on the market. Instead, our plant is customized for specific optical treatments. It has been projected and realized exclusively for the specific coating of optical reflectors for LED applications.
This allows to  achieve superior optical performances, up to 37% higher than the optical efficiency of the common reflectors currently  treated through a standard coating process. Also, such innovative technologies allow the treatment of plastic materials of new generation, heat-resistant over 250°C (482°F), because the vacuum ensures the ideal conditions needed for a perfect uniform and compact coating. The treatment process includes also the Plasma technology. Plasma is the fourth state of the matter, a gas which can be partially or totally ionized, consisting of free charged particles, such as neutral molecules, ions and electrons, simultaneously present. In this case, Plasma stays for “low energy content“: a higher or a lower energy content defines a “cold” Plasma or a “hot” Plasma.

Cutting-edge technologies as well as innovative proceedings introduced in our project and production processes not only provide our engineers and technicians with the highest technological level, but also enhance their engineering potentialities which will result in the highest product quality level.

The entire treatment process is made of four working operations. That is a longer working cycle than usual. However, the innovative technologies for the creation of vacuum allow to keep the costs competitive. Every part produced is not only a hi-tech product but also a cost-effective solution.

A further key issue is the ZERO ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT of the new Vacuum Treatment Plant from Khatod, totally complying with RoHS and ELV Standards.

Our commitment with the Environment Preservation is an essential part of our company philosophy.
By using these new technologies, we have achieved approx 30% reduction in energy consumption. Also, Khatod Vacuum Treatment Plant exclusively uses organic materials and it emits no waste substances that can pollute the environment and disrupts the climate. Its working operations are totally ZERO EMISSION.
And that’s not all! In the second half of 2012, Khatod will also be able to supply PECVD treated products

We are proud to be able to deliver our customers the most cutting-edge technologies, either for CUSTOM applications or for all our standard products.

RECOMMENDED GLUES

The adhesives listed below work well to bond an optical component to a given PCB type. The adhesives listed also are generally safe to use with most LEDs on the market. We strongly recommend that every customer fully tests and takes the necessary measures to ensure that there is complete compatibility of the glue when used with his particular product, LEDs and other components. Testing and verifying of the adhesives and their combinations has always to be the customer's responsability.
Please take note of the Instructions of Use.
