Moving Lenslet Array (MLA) PL1564

ZOOM and AUTOFOCUS LENSES, available in 45mm diameter, are single TIR lenses from Khatod Series PL1590WI.
When equipped with the Moving Lenslet Array (MLA) PL1564, the newest accessory designed by Khatod, the lenses execute  ZOOM and AUTOFOCUS performances in a wide range of applications. The MLA and the lens fit perfectly as they are complementary, have the same diameter and Lenslet Array.

Moving Lenslet Array (MLA) PL1564 with PL1590WI Lenses

Place the MLA on the top of the lens and make it slide over the lens along the optical axis: beam angles will vary in a range from 11°, when the MLA is nearly in contact with the lens, up to 45°, when the MLA is made sliding over the lens. The beam variation is obtained along 5 mm distance.
These lenses perform an optical efficiency over 90% and preserve a perfect light layout in the full range of the beam angles, also in color mixing applications using multi-color LEDs.

Zoom & Autofocus Lenses

The lens and the Moving Lenslet Array coupled together, make up a high precision optical system enabling ZOOM and AUTOFOCUS applications by just sliding the MLA on top of the lens.

The toroidal lenslet array creates a rippled surface able to reshape the light into a beam  whose size is the one of an A4 paper sheet (- 300×200 mm², 12×8 inch²) at 1 m distance. The distribution in the wide light pattern, often referred to as a “flat-top”, is  totally  uniform. The Strips from Khatod are REAL TIR LENSES, optically engineered to perform precise symmetric and asymmetric beam angles, made of Optical Grade PMMA, and reaching a Lighting Efficiency of 89%. The lens magnifies and directs the LED light by shaping a perfect symmetric or asymmetric beam angle, depending on the Strip Lens you are using. This gives your light more focus to a direct spot in the shape you have chosen to reproduce.

Khatod STRIP LENSES are available in the following dimensions: 200mm (l) x 12.5mm (w) x 8.5mm (h).
They can be butted up together to give a continuous effect, and realize desired lengths by multiples of 200mm strip lenses.

On request, you will be supplied with proper aluminum extrusions specifically engineered for housing the SYMMETRIC and ASYMMETRIC STRIP LENSES from KHATOD.
The extrusions, supplied only on request, are 600mm long and  can hold up to 3 parts of butted up together Strip Lenses that will perform like one single strip lens delivering a perfect continuous smooth lighting.
The extrusions can be cut to size so enabling to realize any desired lengths. The Strip Lenses and the extrusions are supplied separately and you are totally free to require just the strip lenses without the extrusions. Khatod Strip Lenses are provided with linear pins enabling a robust mounting into the proper aluminum extrusion.

SYMMETRIC and ASYMMETRIC STRIP LENSES are perfect for use in General Lighting, particularly in Architectural or Decorative Light Applications. Suitable to emphasize a room in a museum, as well as a hall or an entrance; perfect for under cabinet, under stairs, closets, exhibits, furniture; excellent for wall washing, coves and corridors, shop windows, aircraft interior, etc.

The newest Single Lenses from Khatod, able to perform a superior Clean Rectangular Beam, are high efficiency lenses designed for use with the most popular existing LEDs references of latest generation.

Most of lenses for LED applications in current use perform output beams with circular or elliptical profiles. The light distribution as well as the intensity they produce is mostly suitable for many applications in which a small spot is focused by the light beam.
However, a uniform intensity distribution focused to a wider and not circular pattern, often referred to as a “flat-top”, is increasingly required in many different uses often considered unusual so far.
As an example, the inspection lines of the materials processing departments require a wide rectangular spot of light that has a perfect and uniform light intensity distribution. This will ensure that the entire illuminated area is perfectly processed  and controlled.
   
The rectangular spot is used essentially for illumination and not for focusing a single individual point.
For this reason, it is essential that the illumination is uniform, and any point in the rectangular light pattern needs to have the same features of brightness, regardless of where it is located in the illuminated field.    
Thanks to Khatod’s most advanced optical technology, this new series of optics is able to produce a perfect rectangular beam. These latest solutions for Color Mixing are the result of our experienced optical and mechanical engineering as well as the employment of High-Tech software and equipments for R&D, Production and  Quality Control. Our proven capability in moulds fabrication and  the use of superior quality polymers, specific for optical mechanical and technical properties, are further fundamental aspects for our success in delivering the best solution to lighting designers using the color-mixing-LED technology of latest generation in their fixtures.

The newest RGBW Color Mixing Lenses from Khatod– available in Ø 35 mm and Ø 45 mm -allow to perform a full range of beam angles, from an EXTRAORDINARY 8° ULTRA NARROW beam up to 40° Wide beam.

Also, they can be equipped with a special optical accessory, a Moving Lenslet Array (MLA), to be mounted on top of the lens. The use of the lens with the MLA allows ZOOM and AUTOFOCUS applications. By sliding the MLA on top of the lens, you can vary the beam angles in a range from 12° to 50° by preserving a perfect color mixing and a high optical efficiency over 90% in the full range of the beam angles.
The MLA and the lens fit perfectly as they have the same diameter. The beam angles vary from the narrow configuration when the device is nearly in contact with the lens, to the wider configurations when the MLA is made sliding over the lens.

What makes these lenses superior is the great color mixing performance which exceeds any expectations. The red, green, blue and white beams produced by the high brightness chips are perfectly mixed and concentrated in a unique light beam of high intensity while delivering an incomparable uniformity level. Shadows or glare are totally eliminated and the highest in light color mixing is guaranteed. Are IP protected, rating IP65. The silicone gasket is placed in the special groove around the perimeter edge of the panel so as to insure protection against powder and water ingress.

The silicone gasket placement is integrated into the production process of Nactus. An in-line dispensing arms robot equipped with a built-in sequencer executes the in-line transfer of the silicone gasket into the preset groove on Nactus panels.

This robotic dispensing system ensures high accuracy and repeatability of the gasket placement operation so guaranteeing high efficiency in IP protection.

NACTUS IP DSThe panels are clear fine-frosted finish  except for one side which is gloss finish. This gloss finish side must be directed towards the support of the luminaire (pole, wall, peg, etc.) for a correct positioning of the panel during the mounting operation.

NACTUS IPThe cable entrance service is provided by an appropriate pocket on one side of the panel which works also as a benchmark for the correct positioning of the panel during the mounting operation. The panels are totally clear fine-frosted finish.
